The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research (PTR) at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy (COP) at the Orlando / Lake Nona campus invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track position at the rank of a Research Assistant Professor. The successful applicant will have a commitment to the Department’s mission and team-based, collaborative research program. The successful candidate will contribute to the NIH-funded anti-infective research program and related projects in the infectious diseases/translational research theme at UF in collaboration with Drs. Bulitta, Drusano, Brown and their teams. The successful candidate will perform translational research with a focus on advanced mass-spectrometry (MS), including LC-MS/MS and MS-based omics techniques, and integrate these mechanistic data into translational pharmacokinetic / pharmacodynamic research strategies to ultimately optimize patient dosing. The main responsibility of this position is the development of advanced bioanalytical approaches and their integration into mathematical models for translational research. The successful applicant will hold a Ph.D. in pharmacy / pharmaceutical sciences or medicinal/bioanalytical chemistry with relevant post-doctoral training in advanced bioanalytical techniques of biological systems, as well as knowledge of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and mathematical modeling in pharmacology or related fields. FDLE Criminal Background Check Required.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with bioanalyses of cellular systems (including bacterial and mammalian cells), mass-spectrometry based ‘omics’ techniques (including proteomics, lipidomics, glycomics, or metabolomics), antimicrobial pharmacology, and mathematical modeling in pharmacokinetics / pharmacodynamics is strongly preferred. Additionally, soft skills including management and communications skills are essential for team-based research with faculty and collaborators.
