SEO and Analytics Specialist

Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University seeks a motivated, results-oriented Search Engine Optimization and Analytics Specialist who enjoys the complexities of SEO and understands the role information technology and marketing, and communications play in increasing search visibility for university websites.

S/he recommends optimization strategies and routinely tracks and monitors performance. The SEO and Analytics Specialist works cross-functionally with colleagues in Digital Strategy, Information Technology, and Enrollment Management to identify techniques that expand reach, capture target audiences and encourage conversions.

Essential job functions, duties, and or accountabilities:

The SEO and Analytics Specialist has knowledge of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO and stays current on the latest trends and best practices related to ranking factors and search engine algorithms. S/he has a strong understanding of Google Analytics and works with the Manager of Technology and Analytics to produce regular reporting to key stakeholders.

  • Conduct full SEO site audits and analysis. Create an ongoing schedule for site review and reporting. Develop short and long-term strategies that align with KPIs and university priorities.

  • Regularly monitor Google Analytics dashboards, create monthly and ad-hoc reports, identify performance trends and make recommendations for optimization.

  • Serve as primary keyword expert responsible for various aspects of research, optimization, and analysis. Develop strategies to enhance keyword performance and work with the team to deploy improvements.

  • Stay abreast of trends and best practices and provide relevant updates to the team as needed.



Qualifications

Required skills, knowledge, abilities:

  • 2-5 years of hands-on SEO experience.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics.
  • Knowledge of CMS platforms and HTML, Javascript and other programming languages as they relate to SEO.
  • Familiarity with SEO practices including keyword research, site analysis and link building.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and incomplete information.
  • Excellent communicator and self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively in groups. Ability to clearly and effectively articulate complex issues, insights and recommendations.
  • Attention to detail.

Preferred skills, knowledge, abilities:

  • Experience with Sitecore CMS or comparable web platform.
  • Proficient with Google Search Console, Google Keyword Planner, Google Data Studio, Google Tag Manager and SEM Rush or similar tools.
  • Certifications in Google Analytics, Google Ads or other comparable courses.
