Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a Research Development Coordinator at the Daytona Beach campus. This position will support the Associate Provost for Research through:

  • Communicating funding opportunities as required.
  • Advancing proposal writing and grant development across the three ERAU campuses.
  • Collaborating and coordinating research development efforts with the Office of Sponsored Research Administration (OSRA).
  • Planning, developing and conducting workshops and trainings and preparing online resources regarding proposal writing and grant development and other research-relevant topics for researchers and students.
  • Supporting large-scale grant project efforts across multiple academic programs and institutions.
  • Coordinating internal limited submission processes and procedures and other preproposal reviews.
  • Communicating in-depth knowledge of current funding agency requirements and research administration processes to stakeholders to increase proposal submissions and awards.
  • Communicating agency changes or critical information to Research Points of Contacts in campuses, colleges and departments.
  • Assisting with management of the internal funding programs.
  • Assisting with sponsor site visits.
  • Providing proposal/award information related metrics.
  • Assisting with preparing reports and their dissemination.
  • Editing proposal drafts and leading internal peer-review process as needed.
  • Overseeing grant writing, editing and consultation including supervision of freelance editors, interns, etc.
  • Other duties as needed.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Public Administration or related field or comparable professional experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in project management or research program development.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams and develop partnerships.
  • Experience in a university research environment and/or knowledge of federal agencies, their policies and procedures.
  • Passion for forward-thinking, cutting-edge research.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to solve problems and make effective decisions.
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse group of people, including faculty, students, staff and agency contacts.
  • Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Independent thinking and initiative.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines.
  • Fluency in Office 365 software.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with scientific grant writing and proposal development.
