Develops and maintains effective relationships with local, regional, and national employers to increase recruitment of college’s students and recent graduates. Administers, develops and oversees the internship related grants. Oversees development and implementation of departmental programming. Provides quality career/vocational guidance and information to undergraduate and adult students through individual counseling, workshops and seminars.

Salary Grade A10 Essential Functions

1. Develop and nurture mutually beneficial partnerships with employers to support the university’s students and alumni as a potential candidate pool for their internship, full and part-time hiring needs and connect employers for events.
2. Maintain a database of local and national companies and organizations for prospective participation in the internship program. Facilitate their participation on Handshake.
3. Approve all internships postings on Handshake and communicates with employers.
4. Create and coordinate career events and related programming such as Career Fair, On-Campus Recruiting, including: planning, marketing, venue set up/ breakdown logistics, invoicing, hosting, catering
5. Manage evaluation and assessment process: creates/updates survey instruments, compile data and initial analyses, and apply results to future career experience related events.
6. Write, administer and manage the IBHE “Jobpath” and Ralph Pechanio Internship Grants. Communicate with participating employers and students.
7. Manage and maintain “Career Closet”.
8. Hire and supervise WCPE student employees.
9. Represent WCPE at University functions and present to prospective students and parents Participation in Professional affiliations.
10. Oversee and administer budget related to concentration area.
11. Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
12. Support mission, vision and values.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Additional duties as assigned
• Must attend developmental programs

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, Human Resource Development, Marketing, Counseling or related fields
2. Five years business experience or job/career placement experience
3. Effective written and oral communication skills, including public speaking
4. Ability to work with diverse student populations
5. Ability to work with physically challenged student.
6. Ability to coordinate projects with various departments, and work with various constituencies – faculty, students and businesses
7. Capable of job developing with small organizations as well as large corporations
8. Must be dedicated to maintaining and improving the image of the college and the CPE

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Education, Marketing, or related fields.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
