Position Description Summary
The Assistant Professor of Public Health will combine teaching, research, service, and leadership of a diverse student body of undergraduate and graduate students in the area of applied biostatistics. Candidates from underrepresented minority groups are encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications (Education):
• Doctoral degree in biostatistics or statistics, and a Master of Public Health or experience in public health.
OR
• Doctoral degree in public health or related area, and a Master’s degree or experience in biostatistics/statistics.
Minimum Required Qualifications (Experience):
• Experience in teaching and managing online course delivery as well as in-person instruction along with curriculum development.
• Demonstrated record of collaboration and professional service.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and conducting research, publishing results, and mentoring students.
Other Requirements:
Demonstrated effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Practical professional experience in biostatistics, statistics applied to health fields, and/or epidemiology.
• Some educational background in epidemiology.
• Teaching experience in higher education within the last 3-5 years.
