The Department of Neurology, at the University of Florida invites outstanding applicants for consideration for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor position, in the Movement Disorders Division. The successful candidate will perform research, inpatient attending and clinical duties, including consultations, teaching, supervising medical students and residents. Research duties will be dedicated to determining the interaction between aging and synuclein pathology in cognitive and motivational network pathology and symptoms and testing a non-invasive and potentially disease-modifying therapy, which would meet critical needs in mechanistic understanding, imaging biomarkers, and therapeutic and potentially disease modifying neuromodulation.

Opportunities for clinical and research collaborations are abundant. Resources include the McKnight Brain Institute, Institute on Aging, Clinical and Translational Science Institute, Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Disease, Fixel Institute for Movement Disorders, Center for Neurogenetics, Wilder Center for Epilepsy Research, Center for Neuropsychological Studies, Malcom Randall VAMC, including the Brain Research and Rehabilitation Center and Epilepsy Center of Excellence, and Shands HealthCare.

Medical Degree and board certification in Neurology except that for those having completed training within the previous five (5) years. Practitioners are expected to maintain Neurology board certification and in the sub-specialty in which they will primarily practice. External grant funding a plus.
