Position Title: Registration Specialist Division/Department: Benton Center Location Benton Center, Corvallis, OR Job Summary:

Provides leadership and coordination for Benton Center student services and registration, and campus store services. Coordinates and trains part-time non-contracted classified employees in delivery of student services at the Center. Acts as liaison between the Benton Center, Student Services, and Student Leadership.

Required Qualifications:

Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus the equivalent of three years full-time experience in general office or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:

An Associate’s degree in education, business, or a related field is preferred. The equivalent of two or more years full-time experience in a collegiate setting is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Position spends majority of work day alternating between working at desk and assisting students at counter. Requires periods of extended standing and occasional lifting of light to medium weight materials (10 to 50 pounds). Requires good hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard, typewriter, or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers. Requires hearing and speaking ability sufficient to carry on routine conversations in person or over the phone.

Work is normally performed in an office setting with little or no exposure to health and safety hazards. Extensive time is spent working at a computer. May require travel to various locations. Position works five, 8 hours days, and may require some early/late hours.

Essential Duties:

Coordinates registration services between the Albany Campus and Benton Center staff. Admits and registers students. Participates in Albany campus registration related scheduling meetings and events. Provides information about the unique requirements of Benton Center registration services. Relays information to Benton Center staff to assist with registration processes.

Assists the Regional Director (Benton Center Director), Registrar, and staff to identify and resolve problems within admissions and registration. Arranges and maintains registration environment for staff and students to provide efficient, friendly service. Monitors and orders registration materials and supplies.

Oversees part-time, non-contracted classified employees and facilitates staff meetings. Recruits hires, schedules, and assigns work to part-time registration staff. Monitors part-time budget and reports budget information to the director.

Trains part time, non-contracted classified employees for front counter services, including registration, cash handling, and other student transactions. Ensures all office staff are aware of all current LBCC and Benton Center policies and procedures concerning registration and handling of cash and credit transactions. Develops, updates and maintains training materials in accordance with current procedures.

Oversees completion of cash reconciliation for registration and campus store. Maintains the security of cash and checks at the registration counter. Serves as back-up for bank deposits as needed.

Coordinates with Student Life and Leadership, Student Student Services, and Institutional Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Center, and the Benton Center staff to plan student-centered activities. Maintains student lounge displays to ensure they are current, informative, and attractive.

Maintains registration and campus store records as needed. Answers general questions and provides information to students, staff, faculty and the public. Collects tuition and fees. Answers questions about college procedures, requirements, and class schedules. Provides specific class information including location, instructor information, etc. Processes third party transfers and charges. Assists with researching and resolving problems with student registrations.

Works with the Regional Director to establish Registration Office hours and dates. Coordinates regularly with the Center Coordinator, staff, and students.

Serves as back up to other center administrative staff to provide support to instructors, such as assistance with media set-up, Banner, Aviso, or Webrunner information, class lists, late enrollments, classroom materials, or supplies.

Sells pottery and recycled clay for the LBCC Foundation Ceramics Fund. Collects testing fees for proctored and placement tests.

Creates, edits, copies, and distributes a variety of documents, including correspondence, reports, instructional materials, etc. Makes temporary signs and posters to inform public, college and center staff, and students of registration and student activity information. Works with administrative staff on relevant content for the digital reader board and bulletin board displays.

Coordinates with other internal stakeholders, including Academic Foundations, Extended Learning, Driver’s Education, and Parenting Education departments. Monitors other related duties in support of the Center, including records retention.

Participates with other staff in developing and implementing process improvements to enhance customer service. Participates in Center and College committees and task forces.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
