Position Summary

· Manages all aspects of the daily operation of the Engineering Academy program.

· Establishes working relationships with target school, post-secondary educational institutions, and community agencies to coordinate program services and recruit program students.

· Conducts program marketing and public relations activities in target area.

· Build collaborative partnerships with stakeholders across business/industry sectors and the College to create advantageous and prosperous opportunities for Engineering/Information Technology programs.

· Responsible for building critical external relationships to create and execute work-based, employer-driven, earn-and-learn programs and workforce development initiatives, including job pipeline opportunities and apprenticeship development and implementation.

· Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops for professional development.

· Manages a follow-up system by the accumulation of data for analysis as well as study to determine task effectiveness.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Ability to embrace, understand and implement the purpose and the vision of the College.

· Experience and oversight developing, implementing, and deploying complex workforce development projects, while working collaboratively in a team environment.

· Ability to identify and address opportunities and challenges that arise as a result of Dallas College’s current transition.

· Knowledge of college programs and offerings.

· Knowledge of the Dallas economy, including employer, and workforce needs and challenges.

· Knowledge of forward-looking insights on the relationship between workforce and higher education.

· Able to employ data-informed decision making and use predictive analysis.

· Possess working knowledge of student career development concepts, practices, and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertained to the program focus

· Ability to maintain up-to-date familiarity of community resources and services available to assist the potential program participants.

· Experience managing articulation agreements with transfer universities in engineering programs.

· Ability to evaluate complex problems and propose solutions that will maintain the integrity and reputation of the College.

Physical Requirements

Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with physical challenges to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience

· Associates degree. Official transcripts required.

· Three (3) years of experience counseling and/or similar experience with first generation students from diverse backgrounds.

· Three (3) years’ experience working with business/industry organizations to advance program development and/or workforce development strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Direct/Assist TAMU Program Specialist with local recruiting efforts in the DFW area

· Direct recruitment efforts of students within DC campuses, i.e., Physics, Math, other science courses.

· Following up with potential students on incomplete/complete applications, and acceptances of admission

· First point of contact for Engineering Academies

· Liaison between DC and TAMU

· Maintain a strong working relationship with all DC campuses and area high schools.

· Establish relationships with community-based organizations.

· Serve as the main point of contact for students within the program, to assist with advising and retention.

· Assist TAMU Lead Advisor with scheduling of courses between DC and TAMU College of Engineering

· Serve on various clubs/organizations within Dallas College to represent the Engineering Academy.

· Analyze and report on Data within the program, such as retention, withdrawals, outreach, and others.

· Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.

· Performs other duties as assigned.
