Mission or Goal of Unit
To provide superior, compassionate and innovative clinical care to our patients using state of the art knowledge and resources and to conduct and disseminate clinical research and scholarship, with a focus on the care of patients and education of future clinicians.
Chief purpose of this position in support of above mission or goal
This position is a clinician faculty position to function within the division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Virginia Commonwealth University. This position will provide care for patients with chronic liver disease and with interest in transplant Hepatology.
Position Responsibilities
Clinical
Provide clinical services in the transplant hepatology clinics at VCUHS, to include both clinics on the MCVH campus and in transplant hepatology outreach locations; participate in the inpatient management of patients with chronic liver conditions, participate in attending on the Digestive Health Service at VCUHS ; perform diagnostic endoscopic procedures.
Teaching
Provide teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in the management of patients with GI conditions.
Other | Administrative
Participate in divisional and institutional committees as needed
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in transplant Hepatology.
- Board certified in Internal Medicine Hepatology.
- Current license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU .
