The Department of Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University is recruiting a postdoctoral scholar to work with a growing research program under the sponsorship and guidance of Dr. Arturo Cardounel. Research focus of the laboratory is in cardiovascular disease utilizing cell culture, animal models and human tissue samples. Project focus is on micro-transplantation.

Required Qualifications

- PhD or equivalent in a related field
- Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Animal handling experience a plus
- Experience with isolated heart models, western blotting and protein purification a plus.
