The School of Education is excited to invite candidates who will serve as a Research and Data Analyst.This position will work with a VCU faculty member within VCU’s School of Education to provide analytical support of a variety of PK12 educational programs and teacher workforce data. Typical duties include but are not limited to collection and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data and conducting literature reviews. Research analyst will work independently, reporting bi-weekly to a manager or director or may report to a department administrator.

Required Qualifications

a. Experience designing, directing, and conducting significant research and program evaluations in education or related fields.
b. Experience with a variety of data analysis techniques using quantitative and qualitative data.
c. Knowledge of SPSS and/or other advanced statistical software.
d. Experience with a variety of data collection and analysis techniques using quantitative (i.e., surveys, secondary data) and qualitative data (i.e., interviews/focus groups, case studies, policy/document analysis).
e. Strong writing skills.
f. Strong interpersonal skills.
g. Ability to work independently.
h. Strong computer technology skills.
i. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as an employee at VCU .

Preferred Qualifications

a. Experience designing and conducting evaluations across various sectors, including government agencies, non-profits, PK12 Schools, and institutions of higher education.
b. Record of scholarly publications and presentations.
c. Experience conducting research and/or evaluation projects across various sectors, including government agencies, non-profits, PK12 Schools, and institutions of higher education.
d. Master’s degree in education, research, or a related field.
