Head Men’s Basketball Coach/Director of Camps and Clinics/PE Instructor

The Head Men's Basketball Coach is responsible for all facets of the Men’s Basketball program – coaching, recruiting, budgets, practices, scheduling, supervising support staff (assistant coaches), scouting opponents. In addition, incumbent will be responsible for all facets of Alfred University’s Camps and Clinics programming – working with the Director of Athletics and the Coordinator of Summer Programs to supervise and schedule all athletic camps and clinics in concert with athletic department staff.

Responsibilities:

• Direct all phases of the Men’s Basketball program.
• Adhere to and enforce policies of Athletic Department at Alfred University and the NCAA.
• Oversee recruitment and selection of student athletes.
• Promote academic progress of student-athletes by working closely with support groups on campus.
• Monitor eligibility status of team members.
• Manage and maintain balanced budget.
• Schedule, plan & implement basketball practice sessions as permitted by NCAA rules and regulations.
• Supervise support staff.
• Scout opponents.
• Fulfill Physical Education teaching requirements.
• Responsible for all facets of duties as Director of Athletic Camps and Clinics

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of NCAA regulations, commitment to retention and academic success of student-athletes.
• Must demonstrate coaching and recruiting success at the college level with experience in organizing and motivating players and assistant coaches and support staff
• Must have experience in recruiting at the college level.
