Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Cancer Biology in the Department of Pathology and the State Key Laboratory of Liver Research (SKLLR) (Ref.: 503800), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal.

The State Key Laboratory of Liver Research (SKLLR), founded in 2010, is the only SKL in Hong Kong focusing on liver research. It is a research-based laboratory engaging top-notched research professionals and talents, including the top 1% most cited scientists in the world, and was ranked “Outstanding” in the latest 2017/2018 re-assessment by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Applicants should possess: (i) a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in biological/biomedical sciences or a related discipline; (ii) distinguished academic credentials and strong research track record; (iii) demonstrated ability to foster interdisciplinary research; (iv) proven experience in supervising and mentoring research students and early-career researchers; and (v) experience in cutting-edge technologies related to genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, single-cell omics, gene editing, and animal work. The appointee will report to the Director of SKLLR and conduct high-impact research. They will also undertake teaching duties and supervise postgraduate students. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
