Program Manager for the Challenger Learning Center at Montco Pottstown

Pottstown, PA

 

Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Program Manager for the Challenger Learning Center at Montco Pottstown position.  Under the supervision of the Director of Educational Engagement and Innovation, the Program Manager (“Program Manager”) is responsible for conducting missions, programs, classes, and other educational activities related to the Challenger Learning Center at Montco Pottstown.

 

*This position requires the candidate to obtain the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances prior to their start date. 

 

*Following Governor Wolf's announcement on March 30, the selected candidate will work remotely until further notice.  As the College re-opens the campuses, the selected candidate will transition to on-campus work. This position has college-wide responsibilities that require travel between campuses and to offsite locations. The primary office location is Pottstown Campus.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training/Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Two years of experience in classroom and/or informal educational settings using computer-assisted instruction.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

  • Desire to work with children of all ages, as well as adults.
  • Knowledge of state K-12 and higher education standards.
  • Passionate about higher education, particularly in STEM.
  • Experience with program and curriculum development.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish highly preferred.
  • Possess an outgoing and enthusiastic personality.
  • Amenable to flexible schedule; ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Communicate effectively with children and adults.
    • Work in multicultural settings.
    • Conduct effective classes and demonstrations.
    • Lead public programs with strong presentation and communication skills.
    • Adapt during program delivery to satisfy real-time scenarios.
    • Troubleshoot and learn new technology.
    • Work independently, as well as in a team environment.
