Visiting Assistant Professor of Statistics
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Oakland University invites applications for a one-year visiting position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor of Statistics in the general areas of Data Science or Bayesian Statistics beginning Fall Semester 2021. Responsibilities of this position include teaching, research, and contribution to the Department's program. For this appointment, candidates must have a Ph.D. in data science, statistics or other closely allied areas (or PhD requirements completed) by August 15, 2021.)The primary selection criteria will be an applicant's potential for effective teaching (at both undergraduate and graduate level) and quality research in data science/statistics. Preference will be given to those with research areas in data mining, big data analytics and Bayesian statistics and those who can fulfill the department's current instructional needs in statistics as well as those with strong research collaboration potential with members of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
