Admissions Recruiter

Job Description:

The Admissions Recruiter assists in the attainment of student recruitment goals and increasing overall diversity for KCU. This includes in-person and virtual recruitment of prospective students; planning and execution of recruiting events; and the development of marketing and communications messaging. They contribute to team effort by performing other duties as needed/assigned including application review as well as other administrative tasks (i.e., filing, preparing documentation). They promote the University as a nurturing, student-focused environment. This position reports to the Associate Director of Admissions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attends virtual and in-person recruiting events for all degree programs
  • Cultivates relationships with prospective students
  • Assists with the planning and execution of recruiting and other events
  • Conducts application review
  • Maintains accurate, informative, and timely communications with internal and external constituents and students
  • Assists with the development and administration of overall Admissions protocols and communications
  • Represents department and University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the University


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Education, Public Relations or related degree preferred.
  • Two years of Admissions and/or Student Affairs experience in a health professional or academic institution of higher learning with involvement in recruiting an underrepresented population.
  • Must have excellent oral/written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with prospective students and other departments on campus.
  • Experience in marketing in a higher education setting a plus.
  • Experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system a plus.
  • Experience in managing processes.
  • Demonstrated poise, competence, and professionalism in addressing groups of people.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, be detail-oriented, a self-starter, and able to work independently and/or under minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, balance multiple projects in stressful situations and with frequent interruption; yet, able to perform assignments accurately, attain deadlines, and maintain positive relations.
  • Excellent follow-through skills required.
  • Requires ability to maintain computerized record keeping systems.
  • Ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Must maintain on-going, insurable driving record.
  • Willing and available to travel, approximately 25% of time, with heaviest concentration occurring in the fall and spring.
