Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Surgery ( Ref.: 503968), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicant should have a Ph.D. degree, with extensive experience in molecular biology, human genetics or bioinformatics. They should have excellent communication skills in English; experience in Unix command line interface; and competence in basic programming languages such as R. They should be self-motivated, independent, and able to work in a multidisciplinary team. Experience in analysing large-scale genotyping, sequencing and/or multi-omics datasets is highly preferred.

The appointee will join a research team to study the genetic etiology of congenital disorders, including Hirschsprung disease and congenital bile-duct dilatation, with the research goals to understand the underlying pathological mechanisms, to discover novel clinical and molecular markers, and to stratify patients based on genetic risk profile.
