The Position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist / Training Coordinator will conduct full cycle recruitment in sourcing the best talent for Adjuncts, Affiliate Faculty, Part-time, Temporary, Seasonal and Student employees with a focus on Distance Education. This position will maintain an effective database and programs for retention in support of Unity College. This position monitors human resources functions of the college in accordance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.

  • Serves as a business partner with hiring managers to develop effective sourcing of candidates that result in hiring of top talent. Develop effective relationships with the hiring community to ensure positive result in the recruiting and hiring process.
  • Recruit part-time, adjunct, affiliate faculty, temporary, seasonal, and student employees. Manage full life cycle recruitment (post, source, prescreen, conduct background checks, references, offer, onboarding, etc.).
  • Coordinates and oversees the search process for new employees to ensure that hiring aligns with Unity College policy and strategy and with state and federal regulations.
  • Complete the hiring process within defined metrics to minimize overall time-to start. Develop appropriate marketing strategies and partner with hiring managers and search committees to ensure an effective and efficient recruitment lifecycle while minimizing cost-per-hire.
  • Creates offer letters for all adjuncts, affiliated faculty, part-time, temporary and seasonal employees for Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and President’s signature.
  • Ensures all adjuncts are notified and paid timely in accordance with Unity College pay policies.
  • Tracks adjuncts by term and updates applicable adjunct budget spreadsheets.
  • Conducts pre-employment reference checks and applicant background checks.

    The ideal candidate will possess an Associate’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field with at least three (3) years of job-related experience or any similar combination for education and experience.

  • Working knowledge of federal/state/local laws and regulations related to the areas of workplace planning and employment and human resources development activities.
  • Knowledgeable in employment laws and regulations.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, students, parents and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all matters concerning employees.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities for meeting deadlines, using time efficiently.
  • Ability to function effectively within a matrix organizational structure, maintaining open lines of communication while being discreet, courteous and well poised.

    As our distance education team rapidly grows, we have acquired space at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine where our enterprise and distance education teams will be located. This position will be located at 49 Farm View Drive, New Gloucester, Maine.
