At Falmouth University we are changing the way Higher Education is delivered. Our 2030 Doing it for Real strategy means that we are planning for the needs of the future economy, ensuring our students and staff acquire the skills they need to stay relevant and be highly effective in a changing world.

Falmouth is at the forefront of using creative thinking as a force for positive social and economic impact in Cornwall and beyond. Our impact is disproportionate to our size. With over 6,000 students and 770 staff, we have contributed £100m to the local economy, secured £20m investment into our start-up incubator Launchpad, and launched over 30 high-growth graduate start-ups. As a TEF Gold University and with 96% graduate employability, our students and our region benefit from our entrepreneurial and innovative spirit.

We are now seeking our next Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive to accelerate our progress and lead us in our next phase of growth. At Falmouth we want to increase student numbers, drive research and commercial income, and continue to develop Cornwall as a hub for the creative industries in the UK. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, innovative, and engaged leader who can build on our success and solidify Falmouth’s place as a forward thinking, regionally engaged, and industry connected institution.

We require a leader who brings vision, commitment and credibility to lead Falmouth through this period of growth and change. You will bring the ability and appetite to promote a vibrant, sustainable, inclusive, and inspiring environment, which equally spans teaching, research, innovation, commercial venturing, and knowledge exchange. You will possess energy, drive, and an entrepreneurial spirit, as well as strategic leadership and vision, demonstrable problem-solving and decision-making skills at a strategic level. Proven leadership experience and a track record of identifying and securing opportunities for collaborations, partnerships, and external investment are essential.
