Plan and direct the development and maintenance of the main campus grounds. Lead staff to ensure coordinated maintenance of University grounds is properly performed in accordance with American Physical Plant Association ( APPA ) Grounds Service Level Guidelines.

Education & Formal Training Bachelor's degree (Specify field(s) of study below) Other Education & Formal Training

Ornamental Horticulture or closely related field.

Computer Skills Word-Processing, Spreadsheet Experience

1. Three years progressively more responsible landscape maintenance experience.
2. Three years supervisory experience required. Supervisory experience in landscape maintenance preferred.
3. Two years experience in the application of horticulture chemicals.
4. Knowledge and experience with APPA Grounds Service Level Guidelines preferred.

Other Experience Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Criminal History check, Driver's license, Missouri license required Other Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements

State of Missouri Department of Agriculture Public Operator License for chemical spraying required within six months of date of hire.

Working knowledge of annual grounds care, perennial grounds care, and greenhouse production.
Working knowledge of laws governing the safe use of pest control products, including the State Pesticide Use Act.
Ability to read, understand, and comprehend complex technical manuals regarding greenhouse operations, propagation, landscaping, and pesticide applications.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Mental skills, including concentration, memory, complex decision making, analytical thinking, and/or
conceptual thinking

Specify sensory abilities: Physical & Environmental Factors: Excessive standing and/or walking, Exposure to extreme temperatures, Exposure to fumes and/or chemicals, Exposure to heights, Exposure to loud noises, Lifting (weight) - 50 lbs. Other Physical & Environmental Factors

Bending, twisting, stooping.
Exposure to horticultural/agricultural chemicals.
Incumbent must work outside year-round.

Irregular work hours may be required during snow and ice removal, or planting deadlines, as scheduled.
