Assistant to the Dean - Financial Manager School of the Arts

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
UVU is seeking a Financial Manager to assist with the functions of college objectives, plans, policies and procedures. Manages financial operations and maintains balanced budgets within the college. Coordinates, manages, and/or performs a wide variety of financial support activities for an academic dean to include financial forecasting, proposal reviews, and account audits. Also coordinates, manages or performs a variety of administrative support activities for the dean.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and two years of experience related to the summary of duties OR an associate’s degree, in one of the stated majors, with three years of experience OR any combination of directly related education and experience totaling six years.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
  • Knowledge of financial forecasting, and audit principles.
  • Knowledge of office management principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of academic administrative principles and procedures
  • Excellent understanding and use of Excel and financial software to track and report finances.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit financial reports and presentation materials.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
  • Ability to coordinate and work with various stakeholder in and outside of the college.
  • Ability to help create a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.


Preferred Qualifications:
Finance and accounting experience in a public university setting. Education and experience totaling eight years.


Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in a normal office environment.

Pay Range: $43,400 - $54,250
