About the Opportunity:
The Network Science Institute at Northeastern University is seeking an individual to fill the role of Budget and Program Manager. The Budget and Program Manager will be responsible for all aspects of strategic programming and planning activities including development, budget, launch, execution, measurement, tracking and reporting of operational and administrative projects of the Institute.

Responsibilities:
The project manager will manage a high-volume calendar for the Institute Director; serve as the first point of contact on behalf of the Director and Executive Director (ED), interface with faculty, Deans, donors, students, postdocs, and staff at all levels; draft correspondence; plan and manage Institute events and conferences; coordinate complex reimbursements, visa applications and budget reconciliations. This is a senior, highly visible executive support position that requires outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, as well as a high level of attention to detail. The candidate should be able to successfully engage in multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously and effectively manage initiatives to completion within budget and timeline. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated person, who is excited by solving problems in a fast-paced research setting and being part of an engaged team of students and scientists.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of experience in administration, marketing, or financial services. Must be highly efficient using excel to create and manage data and be able to learn new financial and human resources software. This position requires an energetic and resourceful individual with excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing, and should be comfortable interacting with a demanding customer base including faculty, senior administrators, and high-profile outside contacts.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in an academic or other scientific research environments is preferred.
