Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, a leading health care institution dedicated to teaching, research, and patient care functions is seeking a Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Research.

Reporting directly to the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Research, who will also serve concurrently as the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, is responsible for the administration, service, management, and promotion of academic and research policies and programs for the LSU Health Sciences Center at New Orleans (“LSUHSC-NO”). Incumbent is responsible for exercising leadership, counsel, and guidance to the Chancellor, Chief of Staff, Deans and campus community on all matters related to the academic enterprise, leading the institutional research enterprise, overseeing the formulation and administration of policies and procedures, developing long-range goals and objectives for instructional and research pursuits, and coordinating the academic affairs of all professional schools. In addition, the Vice Chancellor will also be responsible for the general administration and overall coordination of animal care, campus assistance programs, student services, institutional assessment & effectiveness, library services, graduate studies, research services, international services, student financial aid, the registrar, innovation management, and strategic initiatives & planning.

Qualifications:

Doctorate in Basic or Health Science with ten years of academic administrative experience and earned tenure in a university health sciences center.
