Job Description

  • The Program Specialist, under general supervision, coordinates the planning, development, and implementation for the administration of the Noyce INSPIRES program.

  • Plan and implement program events such as conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, and workshops for the administration of the program.
  • Schedule Noyce scholars for several activities related to the project that will occur at WOISD, Del Mar College and TAMU-CC.
  • Procure surveys, consent for surveys, and ensure evidence of scholarship.
  • Develop and conduct programs including leadership training, conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  • Work closely with PI's, faculty fellows, and West Oso Independent school district. Maintain and develop communications between partners by attending meetings and conference calls.
  • Research, develop and write papers, grant applications, and prepare presentations. Assist with yearly budgetary and contract processes.
  • Assist with the development and production of materials designed for the program.
  • Supervise program support staff and student assistants as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field.
  • Additional experience may be considered as a substitution for minimum requirements.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Maintain attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in applicable field.

  • This position is part-time (20 hours per week).
  • This position is grant funded. Continued employment is contingent upon continued funding.
