Lecturer in Educational Practice Position
Literacy, Culture, and International Education

The Division of Literacy, Culture, and International Education at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education (GSE) seeks applicants for a lecturer in educational practice position to support our International Educational Development Program starting in Fall 2021. We are looking for an applied scholar with an interdisciplinary background in research, policy and practice.

The successful candidate should be trained in the social sciences and education, have earned a doctorate in a closely related field, and have at least five years experience in the international development arena. Candidates with a background in early childhood are strongly preferred, although we are open to various relevant specialization (including policy, learning and teaching, humanitarian issues, gender, and so on).

The position requires teaching four graduate courses per year; competitive candidates must have a strong background in graduate-level teaching and advising with demonstrated teaching excellence. The position will also provide administrative support to our distinctive internship program, based on the candidate's strengths, which may include field training, field supervision, student placement oversight, career planning, and so on.

Applications from candidates with multi-cultural and international backgrounds, or from traditionally under-represented minority groups are particularly encouraged to apply. This is a non-tenure track, three-year appointment. The position is subject to review at three-year intervals and is renewable at the discretion of the Division as long as academic need persists.

Review of applications will begin immediately and we will continue to consider new applications until June 7 or until the position is filled. Please send a letter expressing your interest and general qualifications, curriculum vitae, names and contact information for three references, and two relevant manuscripts (in PDF form) to https://apply.interfolio.com/86763
