Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; this is a temporary position to end on or before June 30, 2022 with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if funds and/or program needs exist.

About the Position:
The Office of Disability Support Services strives to increase access and retention for students with permanent and temporary disabilities by ensuring equitable treatment in all aspects of campus life. The program acts as a catalyst and agent for compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations mandating equal opportunity and access for person with disabilities. Our office provides co-curricular and academically related services which empower students with disabilities to achieve academic and personal self-determination. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as an Accommodation Coordinator (Student Services Professional I-Range A). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under close supervision, the Accommodation Coordinator provides support for ADA access related needs for students with disabilities in the office of Disability Support Services (DSS). Disability Support Services engages in confidential and sensitive information, therefore work must be completed in strict confidentiality and in a timely manner. This position assists students with a wide range of abilities in the transition from virtual instruction to in-person instruction. Supports the DSS team in orienting and supporting new and continuing students to virtual and on-campus DSS services and ensuring access is provided during the transition. Facilitates pre-planned workshops for students requiring additional support in accessing accommodations and supports. Due to anticipated increase in students with psychological disabilities, this position works with individual students to provide already established mental health resources and supports.

This position interacts primarily with students and DSS program staff and is responsible for performing duties through well established department guidelines, policies and procedures under ADA, 504 and 508 law and in accordance with campus guidelines, policies and procedures. Communicates established guidelines, policies and procedures for students as needed. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration or other job-related field. Specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working knowledge of the basic principles of individual and group behavior, as well as research and observation techniques for the purpose of recording, classifying, and interpreting factual information. Foundational knowledge of the techniques and methods of interviewing. Ability to gather and analyze data. Ability to reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations. Ability to participate in and contribute to group meetings, conferences, and interviews. Ability to clearly express ideas and make recommendations. Ability to write clear and concise reports. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
