About the Position:
The Office of Admissions is responsible for determining student eligibility for admission to the University, processes and evaluates applications and transcripts, determining residency status, and reviewing appeals for exception to University Policy. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Associate Director, Application and Imaging. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Provides leadership and management for the Application Center and Imaging units within the Office of Admissions. Supervises a full-time staff of 13, including setting the work priorities with the Director of Admissions, setting standards of work excellence and promoting the development of employees. Plans, organizes, and directs the flow of work, to ensure that the applications are received, acknowledged, and processed accurately. Establishes productivity goals, timeliness and Application Center work requirements in conjunction with the Director of Admissions to ensure timely response to all constituents. Assists with the development of all Admissions communications, internally and externally. Responsible for various Admissions email boxes to assist students, parents, counselors and the general public on Admission related questions, updates and issues. Prepares and conducts employee evaluations and keeps employees informed on an ongoing basis of their strengths and needed areas of improvement. Maintains current knowledge of University policy and ensures compliance with union contracts. Manages and contributes to the continuing development and enhancement of the Admissions imaging technology. Utilizes and prepares Admissions queries and reports for the distribution of work, forecasting and data analysis. Assists with the ERS and ERSA cleanup for the CSU Chancellor's Office reporting. Serves as a key member of the Admissions Leadership Team, sharing ideas for improvements and bringing them to fruition. Demonstrates understanding of campus culture and promotes appropriate communication strategies and collaboration between the Application Center, Imaging area and the University community. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university or equivalent supervisory experience may be substituted for the degree. Previously progressively responsible experience in admissions and records or a similar environment Knowledge of personal computer (PC), Word, and Excel, PeopleSoft, imaging and verification systems. Good organizational skills. Must have ability to direct workflow for Application center. Ability to draft correspondence independently; must be able to support Director of Admissions with assigned special projects. Excellent aptitude for detail as entire job demands recognition of coding detail in various special University Programs. Ability to manage a large clerical staff, supervising and training. Ability to evaluate changes in system and university requirements and incorporate these into existing processing terms.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Five to seven years of supervisory experience is preferred. Good organizational skills; must have ability to direct workflow for Application Center. Ability to draft correspondence independently; must be able to support Director of Admissions with assigned special projects. Attention to detail; entire job demands recognition of coding detail in various special University Programs. Ability to manage a large clerical staff, supervising and training. Ability to evaluate changes in system and university requirements and incorporate these into existing processing. Understand the role of Admissions in the university community.
