Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; this is a temporary position to end on or before June 30, 2022 with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if funds and/or program needs exist.

About the Position:
The Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Programs (DIEP) supports the CSUF mission of preparing our diverse student body for academic and professional success. We develop and support practices, programming, and policies across the broad spectrum of inclusivity, equity and civility for the CSUF campus community. Through the provision of consultation and training, we strive to promote a campus community wherein students, staff and faculty are engaged in the values of inclusive excellence. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Learning and Inclusion Coordinator (Administrative Support Coordinator I) to help with COVID-19 cultural competency trainings to ensure a safe and equitable return to on-campus operations. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Reporting to the Director of Engagement and Learning, the Learning and Inclusion Coordinator is responsible for administrative duties that support the delivery of the unit's diversity, inclusion, and equity training services. Using knowledge of effective learning and development practices, this position coordinates the delivery of the unit's training activities by supporting the planning, execution, and training efforts of the Inclusion Champion Certificate Program. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
High School diploma or the equivalent and four years of progressively responsible experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. Thorough, detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Thorough knowledge of office systems with the ability to use a range of technology, systems and software packages. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects. Ability to apply a variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to perform standard business math including calculating ratios and percentages, tracking financial data, and making simple projections. Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports. Ability to handle effectively a broad range of interpersonal contacts including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience operating a learning management system. Prior experience working at an institution of higher education. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. 1 - 2 years related experience in diversity, inclusion, and equity training or customer service environment. Experience with or willingness to learn how to use e-learning platforms and the Learning Management System. Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all level of the organization. Strong problem solving and decision-making skill Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook. Strong team player with a high degree of personal initiative and exceptional customer service skills. Prior experience working effectively and collaboratively in a diverse, multicultural environment.
