The George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) invites applications for a position at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Technology Management (ISTM) starting as early as the Fall of 2021.

 

The position carries an 18-credit teaching responsibility annually, involving some in-class graduate courses, some online graduate courses, and some undergraduate courses.

 

The ISTM Department is committed to providing rigorous and up-to-date education in its dual fields of Information Systems and Technology Management. In addition to its teaching program, ISTM faculty pursue a growing body of important research in Information Systems and Technology Management. Several outstanding new faculty members have joined the department in recent years and contribute to teaching in the MS-Information Systems Technology (MSIST) program and other graduate programs as well as publishing in relevant research journals.

 

The George Washington University is situated in the heart of Washington, DC, just blocks from the White House. The School of Business enrolls about 1,500 undergraduate and 1,600 graduate students and has a regular full-time faculty numbering approximately 125. The ISTM Department offers courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Applicants must be experienced in teaching IS technical topics, including some of the following areas: Relational Databases, Cloud Security, Web Application Development, IS Security, Foundations of AI, Mobile Application Development, and Cloud Applications.

 

Applicants for this position must have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. or other terminal degree in business, computer science or engineering, or a closely related field by the date of appointment. Applicants must have a record of teaching excellence in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering or related fields as evidenced by letters of reference, teaching evaluations or assessments.
