The Admissions Counselor opening is a full-time, entry-level position in the admissions office.  Responsibilities include admissions recruitment and selection duties: admissions travel, territory management, interviewing, public speaking and application review.  Additional responsibilities include organizing and coordinating events for prospective students and other admission-related duties as assigned.

 

Position requirements are as follows:  a Bachelor's degree, and a valid United States driver's license and experience in undergraduate college admissions as an admissions counselor, admissions intern and/or admissions tour guide/virtual ambassador. The successful candidate should have excellent demonstrated abilities in the following: communicate verbally and in writing, speak confidently in front of large groups, organize activities and projects on time, and work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse group of people in a dynamic environment.  Gettysburg College seeks candidates who have the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues and community members. It is expected that the successful candidate will have an Interest in creating an inclusive campus community and have a commitment to the liberal arts and sciences college experience.
