Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include teaching two courses in photography and video/media arts, one in another departmental offering (foundations, special topics, digital media, etc); responsible for the photography program and maintaining photography studio facilities and equipment; responsible for the continuation of the development of a strong, well-rounded undergraduate digital and traditional photography and video/media arts program in collaboration with faculty within the department and at large in the university, to develop new programming related to game design, digital media, and cinematography. Additional responsibilities include advising students; managing area budgets; meeting the teaching, research, and service expectations of the department and the university; and maintaining a high level of scholarly activity.

Minimum Education Requirements:
MFA in Photography or related field is required. Evidence of a strong interest in video/media arts required.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:
The successful candidate will show evidence of a strong emerging national exhibition record, active professional achievement, ability to teach beginning and advanced courses in photography and video/media arts; knowledge of traditional, digital, and alternative photography and video technologies is required. Experience in developing curriculum that is inclusive of both technical and critical issues inclusive of both fine arts and design; strong interpersonal and communication skills; and knowledge of safety practices in photography.

Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
Successful college/university teaching experience and knowledge of electronic imaging, video, and digital media methods are preferred. Interest or experience in one or more of the following: experimental film production, video blogging/podcasting, sound recording and production. Preference will be given to candidates with in depth experience in video/new media production and working knowledge of traditional darkroom practices, while having a strong background in digital imaging. Candidates will have a record of active participation or leadership roles in professional organizations. Knowledge of and application of contemporary theories and pedagogy in the field of Photography/New Media is preferred for an appointment.
