Department Summary
The Biology and the Built Environment (BioBE) Center's interdisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and microbiologists has expertise in building performance, energy efficiency, and indoor environmental quality. Together with the Energy Studies in Buildings Laboratory (ESBL), we have launched the Institute for Health in the Built Environment, a collaboration with multiple academic institutions, centers, and labs in collaboration with private industry, philanthropic organizations, and government agencies to reduce energy consumption of buildings and improve the health and well-being of building inhabitants.

Position Summary
The Energy Studies in Buildings Laboratory (ESBL) invites applications for a part-time administrative assistant to manage office tasks under the supervision of the office manager. Tasks will include setting up and managing staff travel, filling in forms and paperwork, helping to plan events, calendaring, and working with the College of Design purchasing department to purchase and track supplies for ESBL grants.

Minimum Requirements
  • Completion of courses or training in Office Technology;
    OR
  • One year of general clerical experience which included typing, word processing or other generation of documents;
    OR
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience.

    Professional Competencies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, project management, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated overall commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity including the ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
