Responsible for the overall management of the William Pitt Union. Coordinates high profile events; approves brochures, printed materials, dances, food service waivers, etc. Determines security needs of events. Accountable for the overall supervision of all William Pitt Union employees. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate five full time employees and student staff. Develop, implement and enforce Student Union policies and procedures. Approve any changes to WPU policies. Recommend capital projects/renovations to the Vice Provost for approval. Manage Student Affairs Capital projects (i.e. renovations to the WPU). Manage expenditures from the WPU Operating Budget. Manage expenditutres from the Capital Projects budgets. Determine any necessary repairs and contact Facilities Management to complete.
A minimum of eight years experience in student life administration is required, preferably in facilities management. Bachelor's degree required. Masters degree in student personnel administration is preferred. Advanced human relations training and skill, budget management experience, knowledge of contemporary personnel practices, demonstrated planning capabilities, knowledge of student development theory and higher education administration.
