Primary Purpose

The Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness provides leadership and expertise for the University's accreditation, strategic planning, operational planning assessment, and institutional research functions, testing department, and compliance. The Vice President organizes, facilitates, and coordinates planning, assessment, and quality indicator functions of the University, in close cooperation with the leaders of the University. Serves as the official Accreditation Liaison between the institution and the Higher Learning Commission and has the responsibility for leading all regional accreditation compliance processes. Supports program accreditation activities of the academic programs. Provides leadership that supports RVU values and an evidence driven, continuous improvement culture through accurate data, collaboration and teamwork. Oversees the institution's federal, state, and accrediting agency data reporting submissions, ensures preparation of data reports for department or program consumption, manages related data systems, and provides consultation, support, and training to data users and consumers. This is a key leadership position serving on the President/CEO's VP team.

COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE FOLLOWING: University President, Provost, Controller, College Deans, Vice Deans, Associate and Assistant Deans, Faculty, Manager Information Services, Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Services, Registrar, Director Student Financial Services, Vice President of Human Resources, and the RVU Board of Trustees.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Provides direct supervision to team member and managers as designated while creating a collaborative, consultative and accountable environment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Text Only)

PHYSICAL: Occasionally must exert force to lift and/or move objects up to 20-40 pounds.
SKILLS EXPECTATIONS: Management and leadership skills; organizational and research and analytical skills; strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; excellent oral , written and active listening communication skills; ability to present data simply and powerfully; knowledge of computerized programs, spreadsheets and document storage and retrieval systems. Ability to lead and execute multiple accreditation, research and internal processes successfully. Operating as an internal change agent. Demonstrated leadership and success in workforce equity and advancement.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION: A minimum of a Doctoral degree in education, educational administration, or related field.

EXPERIENCE: Multi-year, successful leadership experience in higher education or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience and strong knowledge of professional and regional/programmatic accreditation processes. Experience in graduate level medical education or academic health sciences is a plus. A doctoral degree in higher education, quantitative research methods, or related field is valued.
