Visiting Assistant Professor Position Description

Emory University
The Department of Film and Media at Emory University seeks to hire a Visiting Assistant Professor for a one-year term, beginning on August 1, 2021. The candidate will be assigned a 2-3 teaching load, which will include our two-semester Film History sequence (Film History I in the Fall and Film History II in the Spring), one section of History of American Television (in the Spring semester), and two elective classes in the candidate’s research area. Emory will offer mostly in-person classes starting this fall. Preference will be given to applicants with a research focus on underrepresented minorities in film and media, transnational film and media, and/or film and media of the Global South, and who can demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion in their pedagogical approach. Ph.D. preferred; ABDs will be considered. Salary will be $45,000 with medical benefits and moving expenses.
