POSITION SUMMARY

Washington University in St. Louis and Biostatistics invites applications for the faculty role of Instructor in Biostatistics. This role will engage in both original scholarship and operational leadership as it relates to the design, delivery, and missions of the Department of Medicine.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Teaching and directing graduate/undergraduate level courses in computation methods and/or applied biomedical informatics to faculty, staff, students and in career learners
  2. Collaborating with other faculty and staff at the Washington University School of Medicine on the design, conduct and report of informatics and computer science based research projects
  3. Writing, preparing and submitting grants and papers on informatics research in collaboration with the director, set research strategy, agenda and protocol
  4. Serving as scientific and technical liaison between the institute and other key stakeholders within the University
  5. Leading informatics research projects with other institutions and investigators
  6. Mentor and advise students on research projects on computational analysis of clinical data

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Requires a PhD in biomedical/ health informatics, computer science, data science, biostatistics or related; or MD/DO; or MSN/DNP.  Applicants must have training or experience in biomedical/health informatics, computer science, data science or biostatistics and a track record including some combination of extramural funding, peer-reviewed publications, teaching experience and trainee mentorship.
