Department Summary
The Office of the President is the chief executive office for the University of Oregon. The office consists of the president, chief of staff, and several high-level executive and administrative support positions. The office staff works to provide efficient and responsible operation of the president's office in support of the president's initiatives and priorities in service to the students, staff, and faculty, as well as the Board of Trustees and external partners of the institution.

Position Summary
This position is mandated by NCAA rules and bylaws and represents the University of Oregon and its faculty in the institution's relationships with the NCAA and the PAC 12 conference. The UO's Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) is responsible for ensuring the academic integrity of the intercollegiate program, promoting the well-being of student athletes, and supporting institutional control of athletics through oversight of compliance and student eligibility. The FAR collaborates with staff from a variety of departments across campus for the purpose of bettering the development of student-athletes' academic experience at the University of Oregon.

This position may not hold an administrative or coaching position in the Athletics Department.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be a member of the faculty or be an administrator who holds faculty rank.

  • Strong management and planning skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and corresponding deadlines in a decentralized environment.
  • Commitment to and experience with promoting and enhancing diversity and equity.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

  • Experience in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data
