A/V Support Engineer - UCCU Center

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
Manages all efforts of the UCCU Center Production Department. Enginneers enterprise systems, coordinates integration, works on complex audio, visual, and technology infrastructure. Provides administrative direction through managing employees, systems, applications, and services within the audio/visual environment, and in evaluating the impact of changes and requirements within the UCCU Center, Lockhart Arena, and UCCU Ballpark. Manages critical issues and complex audio projects. Supervises staff and all technical operations for events. Acts as the lead Event Manager in the absence of the Director and Associate Director.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in Digital Media or Information Technology or a related field plus four years of experience related to summary of duties or a combination of education and relevant work experience totaling 8 years.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge:
Event Management - Planning implementing and troubleshooting AV systems in a fast pace event driven environment - Hardware, software, and design of AV systems - Monitoring systems, network systems, equipment control systems, live video, audio equipment, and lighting equipment - Professional sound reinforcement, acoustics, and large scale sound systems - Software for AV matrix systems - Live video production and broadcast video equipment - Entertainment rigging, chain hoists and truss systems - Experience working in a customer service, team oriented, collaborative environment - Industry standard safety practices and procedures.

Skills:
Effective decision making skills where a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required - Design implementation, and maintenance of AV systems - TCP/IP, application network protocols and operation system configuration - Time management in a fast pace and stressful environment - Customer service skills - Effective interpersonal communication.

Abilities:
Read, write, and interpret technical documentation and procedures pertaining to AV systems and application management - Prioritize multi task and request based on the organizational goals and objectives - Manage large events and high profile clients - Think logically, resolve problems, identify tasks, and develop project plans - work at extreme heights - Work long hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays - Work in the team environment as well as independently

Avixa CTS Certification
Fork lift Certification
Entertainment rigging Certification


Physical Requirements:
Requires handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs (or greater mass requiring mechanical assistance). Standing/walking may occur more than 50% of time.
Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals.
Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
