The Biology Department at Framingham State University invites applicants for a full-time, one-year position as Assistant Professor beginning September 1, 2021. The successful applicant will be an expert in cellular and molecular biology. Candidates with additional expertise in any of the following are encouraged to apply: vertebrate development, cellular immunology, plant taxonomy or plant physiology.

Additional teaching responsibilities may include general biology for majors and non-majors and professional communication development for biology majors. We seek an enthusiastic, committed teacher that will engage students in our liberal arts university environment.



Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.S or Ph.D. in a relevant field in Biology
  • Strong commitment to undergraduate education
  • Ability to foster a collaborative atmosphere among students and faculty
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching in a multicultural setting and the ability to be inclusive of groups historically underrepresented in STEM is also required.


Additional Information:

This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position in the Massachusetts State College Association (MSCA) bargaining unit at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary commensurate with experience in accordance with Appendix O of the MSCA contract (http://mscaunion.org/day-and-dgce-contracts/).
