The Department of Government at New Mexico State University invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor with a focus in political theory and American government. The period of employment is August 16, 2021 to May 10, 2022. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or have ABD status in Political Science or a related field. Preferred qualifications are teaching experience in political theory and American government.
The Department of Government offers a BA in Government, a Supplementary Major in Law and Society, an MA in Government and a nationally-accredited Masters in Public Administration (MPA) program. It has a proud tradition of enhancing student success and social mobility, outstanding research and valuable work in service and outreach. The Visiting Assistant Professor will teach a mix of undergraduate and graduate classes in the areas of political theory and American government, totaling four classes per semester, as well as serve on the MA committee within the Department of Government.
