GENERAL DUTIES
Conducts academic research in connection with CUNY programs; may assist faculty, staff, and students in conducting research and lead research efforts involving others.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Center for Puerto Rican Studies (CENTRO), the only University-based research institute in the United States devoted to the interdisciplinary study of the Puerto Rican experience, seeks an academic researcher with expertise in any of the wide range of academic fields that make up Puerto Rican Studies.
Area of expertise is open, but we particularly encourage applications from scholars focused on issues of racialization, migration, imperial histories, (de)coloniality, critical geographies, public health, social movements, social exclusion, and informal economies. Scholars who can expand the current strengths of the center through humanistic/qualitative approaches, queer/feminist/intersectional methodologies, community-engaged research and/or public humanities are particularly encouraged to apply.
The Research Associate's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conducting academic research, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, preparing grant applications, and producing public-facing

This is a non-tenure track position renewable to a maximum of 3 years. Start date: Fall semester 2021
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Doctoral Degree in a related field and demonstrated research ability.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (not required for consideration): The ideal candidate will have experience in the implementation of the responsibilities described above as well as familiarity with interdisciplinary research and methodologies.
COMPENSATION
Commensurate with rank, education, accomplishments and experience.
Research Associate: $51,522- $65,000
