Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Temporary Part Time Coordinator, Public Services Training Programs, Municipal Police Academy position.  The Coordinator is responsible for planning and administering the various operations, logistics and functions of the Municipal Police Training Program as they apply.  Also would be responsible for providing assistance in the logistics and functions of the Public Services Programs as well.

 

**This position requires the candidate to submit the PA Child Abuse, State of PA Criminal Background Check, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances prior to the start of employment.

 

**Following Governor Wolf's announcement on March 30, 2020, the selected candidate will work remotely until further notice.  As the College re-opens the campuses, the selected candidate will transition to on-campus work.

 

A Part-Time Temporary employee is scheduled to work up to 25 hours per week, may serve a maximum of 12 months. Temporary part-time employees are separated after their term of service, or at the end of 12 months, whichever comes first.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree or its equivalent required, major in Criminal Justice or Public Service field preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • MPOETC and TACS certified.
  • Qualified to be certified in one or more areas of Act 120 instructional program.
  • Ten (10) years prior experience in Public Service field, with supervisory experience required and law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Detail oriented with strong oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to relate to the needs of students and instructors in all programs.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other administrators and departments within the College.
  • Extensive experience in classroom instruction.
  • Experience with program and course development preferred.
