Kent State University’s Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for full-time non-tenure track teaching positions starting in Fall 2021.  The successful candidates must have a master’s degree in the Mathematical Sciences, and preferably a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related discipline (or A.B.D. at the time of hire). The teaching load is 15 credit hours per semester. Salary is competitive.

The successful candidates will have demonstrated lower division teaching excellence, particularly in statistics, data science, quantitative reasoning, math for elementary education majors, and/or courses that are part of the STEM track.  Opportunities to teach upper-division courses, particularly in actuarial mathematics, are possible depending on student demand and departmental need.  Candidates with experience teaching in an active learning environment are especially encouraged to apply.

To apply, complete an application at https://jobs.kent.edu, submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and a teaching statement. In addition, please send at least three letters of reference to:  ntt-search@math.kent.edu.  For further information about the department, please visit the web site https://www.kent.edu/math.

Questions regarding these positions may also be sent to ntt-search@math.kent.edu. Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled.
