Position Summary:

The Project Manager will provide planning, execution and monitoring of processes and systems in support of UW School of Medicine and Public Health - Department of Surgery initiatives including, but not limited to, strategic planning projects, research administration, education, clinical, finance, and administration projects.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required; degree in Management, Business, IT, Healthcare Administration, or closely related field is desirable.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in project management or project oversight
Experience coordinating projects and meetings
Experience in budgets/finance

Preferred relevant work experience:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Experience working on projects with cross-functional teams
Experience working in an academic medical setting or other healthcare setting
Ability to interpret and analyze data to effectively communicate with stakeholders
Specific Project Management training and/or certification
Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools, or other process improvement practices
Demonstrated success with oral and written communications/presentations, project and team
facilitation, and results-focused
Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with minimal direction in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
