Medical Director & Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Wound Care Clinic (73519)
The University of Florida, Department of Community Health and Family Medicine is seeking a full-time non-tenure track Medical Director & Assistant/Associate/Full Professor to provide and oversee the provision of clinical wound care services to the patients of the facility with chronic wounds or other similar conditions involving, but not limited to, debridement, dressings, antibiotics, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and shall follow up on consults and patients at the UF Health Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center located at Magnolia Parke. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications. Full-time preferred, however, part-time is acceptable depending upon the needs of the clinic and applicant.
This position is responsible for the delivery of direct primary health care including debridement, dressings, antibiotics, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and shall follow up on consults and patients at the UF Health Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center. In addition, this position may work closely with ARNP/PAs in a supervisory role providing team-based care using innovative models.
The Medical Director is solely responsible for director the quality patient care efforts within the Facility. The Medical Director should actively chair and conduct the Facility's monthly performance improvement meeting and; lead the interdisciplinary performance improvement initiative that monitor the performance of the Facility and promote compliance with its written policies with the input of the Program Director. Review of the Facility Medical Records and process of care on all patients enrolled at the facility every 4 weeks for each major wound type. The Medical Director will serve as liaison with affiliated medical institutions for services such as hospitalization and emergency medical services. The Medical Director will participate in Regional and National Medical Director conference(s) related to wound care improvement or new wound care information. Oversee the provision of services by all professional and ancillary Healogics staff at the Facility and provide in-service education programs for such staff as may be required. The Medical Director shall be responsible for training and orientation of all wound care center Physicians. The Medical Director shall provide a means for continuing wound care education, introducing new advances in wound healing as well as new product reviews. He/she shall, also, review wound care basics such as the factors that inhibit wound healing, etc. The Medical Director shall serve as an educational resource for the entire wound care center including the medical, nursing, and administrative staff. Promotion of the Facility services in the community, local medical community, and regular formal presentations to various audiences (i.e. medical staff meetings, hospital department meetings, grand rounds presentations, local medical, and community organizations, service clubs, etc.) to enhance the visibility of the wound care center in the local marketplace and surrounding environments. Actively schedule and participate in one-on-one discussions about Facility services with primary care and surgical specialties; act as spokesperson for wound care center services when local media opportunities arise. Support the joint effort of Healogics, and the Hospital in drafting and implementing an annual business plan. The Medical Director will serve as the principle recruiter for attending and consulting staff.
