Position Summary

The academic schedule team collects and processes very large data sets from a variety of sources and must implement intentional quality assurance measures. This role will oversee a team of schedule and room builders to ensure that schedules are created efficiently, comprehensively, and accurately. This will be achieved by designing and rolling out clear processes for the build team, implementing a quality assurance system to catch and rectify errors before schedule publication, and will serve as the final approver and coordinator of the schedule build process. Talent in data collection and review is necessary and key to the success of the team.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Strong background in excel modelling, including comfort using pivot tables, filters, index-matches, Vlookups, and if-statements to draw insights and ensure accuracy of data

· Ability to develop reporting and other data quality assurance activities to ensure integrity of academic scheduling process as well as develop a system to track and analyze findings

· Ability to evaluate findings and work with respective team members(s) to implement appropriate corrective/preventative actions

· Leader for investigating concerns in scheduling anomalies and proposing resolution

· Comfort analyzing data to identify areas for improvement

· Demonstrated commitment to the promotion of diversity

· An appreciation of shared governance and evidence of strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively with administration, faculty, students, staff, and other constituent groups and partners, both within and outside a college or university with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds

· Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills

· The ability to respond appropriately to issues in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment

· A broad knowledge of the philosophy and mission of community colleges preferred

· Ability to provide excellent customer service

Physical Requirements

Minimum Knowledge and Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree required (Masters preferred) as confirmed by official transcripts

· Five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in a higher education registrar environment or equivalent

· Three (3) years in a managerial role that includes data analytics, cross functional communication, and technical skills; experience in student scheduling a plus 

· Knowledge and exposure to scheduling practices. Direct experience conducting academic scheduling a plus

· Demonstrated experience working with data and leading teams to make decisions based on data

· Demonstrated successful experience in strategic planning, resource allocation and personnel supervision

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Responsible for the timely and accurate entry of data into Colleague system and other systems

· Responsible for the timely processing and delivery of contracts

· Responsible for the timely delivery of book adoptions for faculty, including communicating with faculty

· Responsible for quality checks and process enforcement

· Oversees schedule building and related processes and teams

· Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year

· Performs other duties as assigned
