The Graduate College of Social Work (GCSW) at the University of Houston, Carnegie Designated Tier One Research University, invites applications for multiple Clinical Assistant Professor positions who will serve as Field Education Faculty. At the GCSW, our vision is to achieve social, racial, economic, and political justice, local to global. We invite applicants whose teaching and community engagement will advance the social work profession and contribute to achieving this vision. We are particularly interested in applicants with demonstrated experience with field education and social work practice which includes a focus on critical issues of race and racial justice. Appointments will begin on or around August 1, 2021.

The positions are 12-month, promotion eligible non-tenure track faculty positions which will include teaching, service, and administrative duties associated with field education. Field Education Faculty will work closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Field Education in the management of the MSW field education program. Primary responsibilities for field administration will include integration of academic coursework and field learning, agency screening, onboarding and quality assurance, placement of students, and other duties as needed. Teaching responsibilities will consist of faculty liaison duties and up to 2 courses per academic year. Service responsibilities to the College will include participating in faculty governance, including committee assignments.

Qualifications :

Master of Social Work from a CSWE accredited social work program, at least two years of post-MSW practice experience, and demonstrated experience with field education, as a field instructor, field liaison or in another field-related role . Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to the GCSW’s vision and identify how their teaching and practice will contribute to this vision.
