(10 month) Head Coach Cross Country and Track and Field/Recreation Coordinator

The Athletics Department at Pratt Institute is seeking a full time, 10 month Head Coach Cross Country and Track and Field/Recreation Coordinator who will be responsible for the organization and administration of all aspects of the cross country/T&F programs including staff supervision, teaching, implementing skills and strategy, conference and institutional policy and regulations, budget development, scheduling, and implementation of NCAA. This position also acts as the recreation coordinator and will be a member of the leadership team for the operation of the ARC.
The Athletics and Recreation Department is committed to providing a wide range of activities and services that assist Pratt students of various backgrounds and abilities in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Pratt Institute has an athletics history dating back to the founding of the Institution. Currently, Pratt is a member of the NCAA Division III and Coast to Coast Athletic Conference (C2C). The Department is searching for a highly motivated, student-focused men's and women's cross country/track & field coach to assist in the growth of the department and athletic programs.
Head Coach Duties:
- Direct the men's and women's cross country/track and field by coordinating and completing the following: recruitment and retention of student-athletes, practice sessions, practice and game scheduling, contest preparation, contest management, and administrative duties.
- Recruit and retain student-athletes that can meet Pratt's academic admissions standards and sustain or enhance the competitiveness of the program.
- Work to support the academic success of student-athletes and to monitor their academic performance.
- Keep abreast of NCAA, conference, and departmental rules and regulations and attend the required departmental meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations of the NCAA, conference, and Pratt Institute.
- Develop specific duties for the assistant coach that aid in the overall success of the program, ensure that they adhere to their established performance program, and evaluate their performance at the conclusion of the season or year.
- Maintain equipment throughout the year and inventory equipment at the end of the season.
- Maintain applicable health and safety certifications (i.e. CPR, AED, first aid).
Recreation Coordinator Duties:
- Manages day-to-day operations of the front desk, including facility access control, transactions, routine membership management, communications, and guest interactions.
- Responsible for implementing innovative and efficient procedures, staff training, and accurate and timely communication strategies that ensure a positive member experience.
- Responsible for daily accounting transactions, including all credit cards, point of sale, and refunds.
- Responsible for a comprehensive membership recruitment and retention program, including membership appreciation strategies, membership conversion growth, and fostering program participation.
- Assists with the development, implementation, and management of fitness and wellbeing-related programs, intramurals, education and instructional initiatives, virtual curriculum, and content, and special events.
- Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating student group exercise and instructional class instructors, while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Ability to manage and upkeep various internal software and databases for effective management of the recreation program.
