Position Description

The University of Washington Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor without tenure due to funding (WOT) in either the clinician-teacher or faculty-scientist pathway. The position will have a 12-month service period (July1 through June 30). This position will be based at the University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake Campus. We anticipate the position to start in Summer 2021.

Position duties include providing inpatient and/or outpatient psychiatric treatment; teaching psychology and psychiatric trainees and taking an active leadership role in the department's residency program. 

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold an M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent, and have completed four years of psychiatry residency training by date of appointment. Candidates must hold a valid license to practice medicine in the state of Washington and be certified by the American Board of Psychiatry or Neurology (or be considered board-eligible).

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
