Job Description

The Virginia Tech School of Communication invites applications for a one-year non-tenure-track appointment (with potential for renewal) to begin August 2021. The instructor will teach Communication Skills, a two-semester course in written and oral communication for freshmen. The instructor will teach four (4) classes per semester and use a common syllabus and texts. Instructors provide academic advising to communication majors enrolled in their courses.

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree in Communication or related discipline
Ability to work in a collaborative teaching team

Preferred Qualifications

Full-time experience in teaching written and oral communication
Work/experience in teaching first-year students
Demonstrated ability to implement learner-centered pedagogy
Experience/training in academic advising
